Main reason I drive at night.
I have the whole road to myself.
Every time I drive daytime hours I want to load the desert eagle and do some attitude adjusting...:Wheelchair:

Both of the offending trucks would have me pretty irritated if I were stuck behind them. What gets me the most if when one of those fleet POS truck decides to attempt his nobel pass from the left lane while climbing a grade! Any time I have to take it off cruise for that nonsense the left lane truck will be stopped in no time flat once I get around him.

    This is it right here!

Use your head before you pass. How fast are you approaching the truck your trying to pass? If you have been behind him for 30 minutes and only come 500ft closer in that time, you have no reason to try to initiate a pass. You should NEVER expect a driver to help you complete a pass. If he does help you pass, awesome! But don't attempt a pass expecting him to lay off for you. He's got places to be just like you, even if it's at 63.75mph he needs all of it.

Now if you go to pass someone who's doing 5-10mph under you, and they decide to speed up while your trying to pass? By ALL means run them in the ditch. #roadrage101

It depends on the situation, from my own experience.

If I am passing a truck going up hill, and we both otherwise have the same speed, and then crest the hill and get stuck next to that truck - that driver should be kind enough to back off just a bit to let me by.
If the table was turned and another truck had better speed on hills, I would back off and let it get in front of me.

If another truck is using pure downhill momentum to pass me and gets stuck next to me, I will not back off.
Simply because I think it was a jerk move in the first place.

But there is no single answer to the question.
Except, perhaps, that we all need to be more polite and have a bit more patience out there.

If you'r in the left and can't pass get on the brakes and get behind.
If one of us has to hit the brakes and im in the right lune, why would it have to be me?
It's the same logic when you're passing two trucks and the 2nd truck goes to pass the 1st one and puts on his signal and cuts you off and you have to jam on the brakes because he's going a lot slower than you.
Waiting till I go by is not an option apparently. And since he signaled he believes he had the right of way. Happens quite often.

But if someone is trying to pass me and has a faster truck. I will slow it down to make it easier. If you're not faster you're sitting in that left lane. I don't care. It wasn't my stupid move.

If I were in the right lane and someone tried to pass
Their time is more important than yours, driver.

That’s exactly my point! A bit ago you weren’t doing anything wrong just minding your own biz in the right lane.. But now I show up to try to pass but couldn't. So now here we are... together. blocking everyone. The people behind us blame you just as much as me! I’ve made you look bad.

If I am loaded, I look for a spot in the rear, and stay there, unless someone is noticeably slower than me I will go around them. I don’t hang out in the fast lane...don’t have the power with the day cab with the long climbs.

If I had the Pete, I would spend more time in the fast lane.

If I am empty, I pass going uphill, as the slow lane will be going 40 - 45 mph. The up hills here in PA (dare I say mountains) are long enough that the loaded trucks don’t ever catch up to me when I am going up and then downhill.
