Props to you guys that put your chains and binders on the headboard rack. I had to deliver a buddy of mine’s load on his trailer. When I came back to the yard, out of courtesy, I put his chains and binders back on his truck, he had the headboard rack. So I had to drag those chains up to the headboard, boy…. what a work out.

I keep my chains and binders in a box between the frame rails. My feet are on the ground when Im pulling my chains out, not going up and down dragging those chains around. I understand sometimes it’s about how much room one needs.

Looks Good to Me. I don’t speak Flatbed. I can’t help but wonder what the moving blankets are for. Didn’t know that was a thing with flatbed. I need more storage boxes on my Truck. Flat bedders have all the good storage ideas.

The blankets are used as padding on loads to protect tarps from sharp edges.

Moving blankets keep your tarps from being eaten by some stuff.

Also not a flatbedder (I have done a fair share of building things from scratch or repurposing stuff to do what I need with what was available), But, it looks really good to me. Good job and hope it helps!!!

I just leave the chains on the deck with the freight. When forklift is done unloading , i get out if the way of other trucks , and walk chains back to the headache rack... Keeps you from throwing them on the ground then having to lift them back up to the rack... Not always posssible to do it like that, but it saves alot of lugging around when it can be done.

Exactly. That's what I do whenever possible. Why take them down to put them back up.
