My ex had that same mindset. She would spend every dime as fast as she could. Then she would say well you can't take it with you and my response was I don't plan on dieing anytime soon. You do have to think about being a financial burden to them when you can no longer work. If you bought them name brand stuff their whole life, it could be that difference. Not saying to never get nice things for them but rather moderation. $50-$100 for tennis shoes is rediculous. But then I cringe if they are over $25, they wear them out or outgrow them too fast.

Me, I am moving in with candy for the grandkids...lol

I agree, I believe in a balance of enjoying now and planning for later. Some people are suggesting to sacrafice everything to live on a absolute minimum budget and save everything else. I think that's crazy when you have a family.
And for the record when I do buy brand name, I find a great sale first. And nice things does not necessarily mean name brand.

Im the opposite. My kids sacrificed a bit for a few years so they would have a better life after that time was up.

If you want to buy a truck anytime soon, that's what it's going to take.

My goal is to eventually get on with one of the top ltl companies and make 75 to 80k a year and still be home every night. I have thought about buying a truck, but it doesn't make sense for local. At least not to me

That's why you live in the Hood and stay to yourself. $800-$900 a month just don't be flashy

But the fortunate thing is the Eagles could fire Chip.
