It can be done in trucking, but it will take time.

The median household income in this country is under 35k a year. Anything over that could be pure savings or used to eliminate debt. It's not easy making yourself live on a budget, but no goal worth having is easy.

That is relative to where you live. I live in the chicago suburbs and have 2 kids. We lived on 35k a year for a while and it was extremely tight even with all budget cuts possible.

But you did it on 35. So any additional income could have been 100 percent savings account build up.

Technically yes, but trust me you would not want to live like that. We had the bare necessaries and that was it. My kids deserve better. It takes about 50k to be comfortable around here. Now we make a lot more. We do save, but it is also nice to be able to spend on extras like family vacations, going to the zoo, museums, sporting events. I'm all for saving, but you have to live too.
My dad had a friend that worked 70 to 80 hours a week his whole life, saved up everything to retire at 50. Well he retired, had his plans made for travel and everything, was having his dream house built....... 2 months later he died on a car accident. So yes it's good to save for the future, but you also should enjoy the present because you don't know what will happen tomorrow

My impression is that he isn't complaining about the $800 as much as the number of hours away from home it takes to earn it. When he said he's making the same thing as somebody at McDonalds I don't think he was referring $800 a week but an hourly amount.

Go local. I wish I'd done it sooner.
Paid by hour + Mileage with overtime
    Profit sharing
    Home every night.
    Paid 30 minute mandatory break.

O god you live in buffalo...I remember I was pushing my cart down from the dollar general and some punk ### kid in a school bus yelled "hey look a homeless guy!!!!"

I made geezer noises at him and shook my fist. The whole bus laughed.

Then I went and ordered a pizza after I unloaded my junk at the cinex or whatever it is and returned the cart.

...and that kids is my story from buffalo Wyoming.

Oh did I mention I came back and started a derated truck.
Hanzers came and got me from billings
when they finally got me up to the kw the son ##### sent my truck rolling across the parking lot. Acted like it was my fault. No....not leaving the keys in the ignition when you split tow buddy.

K....I'll stop ....I could yack on forever.

    Go local son.

They are withholding tax. I got 7 loads in 2 weeks. One load paid $377 dollars, the rest were around $200. The hay loads really suck, $177 for 600 miles.
