Hello everyone,
I'm just dropping some lines to vent. Man i cant get a trucking job to save my life. I started a thread early about my situation with the reckless driving ticket and i got some good advice. after trying and trying, going door to door to companies, still no luck. I've tried LTL's, moving companies, construction companies and had a owner operator ( I agree to pay my own insurance) tell me NO. Its very frustrating to be told no so many times. I have never had this much trouble starting anything. I even looked for a trucking job in other states. I talked to different friends in this career about buying my own truck to get started, they just say hell no. How many other rookies are having the same problems?![]()
I can't get a job!

Keep knocking on doors eventually one will open.
How old is your reckless? -
It is 2 years old
-
the reason for 2 years is reckless driving , most companys wont hire due too ins reasons,
-
That what everyone has said
-
Yeah I am not 100% on this but I think it will take more than 2 years for that to clear enough to allow a company to hire you. Although I could be entirely wrong just keep trying someone will either be desperate enough for drivers or want to give you a chance.

Honestly try everthing you can think of on a local stand point. Most companies that are of any good size that cover a good area will be strict on bad driving record. The small places might be ok with it. Keep your head upand you will find something it is not going to be easy but give it time.

I'm in the same boat man. Fail to stop BS charges and I've got two years left until it's off my abstract.
I've given up on trying to get a driving job. I'll wait it out, keep applying to places once in a while and looking around just in case a chance comes up but I'm not banking on it.
Insurance companies are corrupt and it's all about money, nothing you can do about that and unfortunately were the scapegoats that pay for everyone else. -
I drive truck part time to supplement my income as a police officer. I would suggest trying to get the reckless/careless driving conviction reduced to a different charge. It is always easier to do this before your conviction. It is possible though to have the court vacate or reduce your conviction at anytime depending on the state where the violation has occurred. Prior to conviction you can always ask to pay a larger fine or have other restrictions imposed. After conviction it is harder to do. Trying to persuade the court depends on you other past driving and criminal offenses. Most judges will work with you if there have been no other current driving offenses and especially if it it keeping you from working. Good luck.
