I know. I used to drive a columbia and I know the fuse box was on top of the dash, but I don't remember seeing the battery cable!
I was just looking for suggestions to do the same thing on mine. I'd hook up my linear! 190 watts! (just had it tested, only paid $30 for this thing!)
I can't install an inverter, but still need power. Help?

The only place I've seen battery cables is under the hood and in the battery box inside the step on the driver's side. You could run your own wherever you want but you risk the company having a problem with it. Mine don't care as long as I don't set the truck on fire which I've managed to avoid so far. -
What about a 2000 watt portable generator that you carried along in the storage, set on the catwalk at night? Would a gas can be an issue? Haven't tried it, just thinking about it...

Frankly I think all of you have missed an important point here. He is looking for 12 volt items. There are plenty of items out there that run on 12 volts including microwaves. Your xbox should have or you can get a 12 volt adapter. I know that there are 12 volt tv's. Its just a matter of googling to your hearts content. Then the company wont mind one bit what you have for a draw in your cab. I know that most cascadias come with extra 12 volt outlets already installed.

yeah but why would you want to pay double for a 12 volt tv that is is made so crappy that after 6 months it dont work. and the 12 microwave is a joke $400 for a blue box of nothing.
-
$200. And I have a tv that runs on 12v that's lasted over 20 years now.
-
Microwave is $69 and are sold to be used in campers / RV's
TV's are also available from RV type stores.
For that matter nearly anything he would want is available at the RV store.
Google RV 12 volt accessories
A link for trucks even. http://www.roadtrucker.com/electronics-4.htmkajidono Thanks this. -

I've seen them bolted to the catwalk. Better check the clearance first, though. You could bolt it to the side of the frame like an apu. Company won't mind as long as you don't drill any new holes.

maybe i can set it up on the other side, on the step. i never use the step anyway.
