Cascadia - 8.9 mpg; 9.2 mpg
Evolutions initial numbers (300 plus units being run by both fleets for a while) 9.2 and 9.4
Prostar - 9.2; 9.2
Days of warranty repair per 100K miles
Cascadia 1.23; 1.01
Evoluaiton .34;.39 (no 300k trucks in this figure so not a good comparison to older trucks)
Prostar 2.23;3.41
Mostly team miles on these trucks and waiting time for repair was not counted in these figures. It was asked about this and both companies said they would double these figures if they accounted for that.
I was stunned. I had thought, based on driver talk (I know, why would I believe that), that these trucks are in the shop more than they are running.
The reason for the call was not to sell these trucks but to justify to investors that the projected return on equity was justified.
OK, so my question is. With the increased fuel savings and higher resale value could you not easily justify getting a new truck vs a glider in a couple years? -
I also would like to know how to operate a truck for .70 per mile. I have tried to be some what conservative with what my cost will be (using hard #'s from co truck) and I am over that.
Driver wage included as nobody should work for free! -
Seems a few FORGET that part of their TRUE ( EQUIPMENT ) OPERATING COSTS , need a driver to make it operate at least for my trucks I do .
fortycalglock Thanks this. -
I really dont the CPM thing, I go by daily figures, but we run 750 mile days @ 1.75 pay per mile- $1300 daily, I give the truck $150, fuel is about $450 sure you cant do this every day...all figures based on 21 working days a month. truck payment is 1800. still leaves over $1000 for maintenance and repairs...why would it cost more than a 1000 a month extra on a new truck?
I guess that boils down to .80 cpm..if we didn't have a truck payment. .70 cpm would yield about $2,000 a month after fuel...sure he can maintain his truck with that.
I make our bottom line by quantity not extra high pay. I think hes in same boat. -
You still need to pay whoever drove the darn thing .

this is a reasonable question, but they dont list speeds in which that milage was achieved ?
can they really get 6.8 at 75mph, day in day out?
Our loaded corondo glider was 30k cheaper than a base model cascadia.
we will cross that bridge in 3.5 years but its going to be really hard to not get the exact same rig. -

Now the 09's & 10's were a different story.RedForeman Thanks this. -
