I've never (at least knowingly) seen that before, either....I'll have to take a closer look at things and see if it's even a possibility on my unit.
Maybe some of the more veteran drivers have seen this.

Why do you have a mud flap in FRONT of your drives? my mud flaps are not even close to my fuel tanks..

Same exact thing happened to me, mudflap wore hole in tank...I had to take a screw thru a piece of rubber to seal hole until I could get it repaired...

I assume it is a mudflap behind a steer axel tire for it to rub a tank. You would think you would see the wear before it wore a hole in the tank. Anything on a truck that rubs will wear something out.
