OP With the alleged trucking shortage you actually kind of touched on a valid point. That being, I run into these service drivers like Uber and lift and such and it irks me to no end to hear that many of them are making more money weekly than I am driving a commercial vehicle all around the country. Lol
The consensus basically is if you’re willing to drive Uber and be in the vehicle as long as we are in a truck, minus the sleeping of course (they sleep at home) 1500-2000 weekly is very possible.
I make on average $1200 weekly, sometimes as much as 1600 and if I take days off of course that figure drops by half or more. Of course I don’t sleep at home for weeks at a time. Lol
No wonder companies are having to bump up those CPM.
I don’t how to feel about it anymore

Many truck drivers do Uber, Lyft, Instacart, Doordash, etc. on their days off.
Yeah, I know about logs, but they don't log it and neither would I.
Some trucking companies have flex work schedules or 4 day work weeks, and other variations. Those drivers can double their weekly earnings on their days off from trucking.tscottme, Pamela1990 and BigRam90 Thank this. -
What someone else is making should be of no concern to you. If you need more than what you say you are making find another company there are plenty that will pay more than $1200-1600 a week.

Cherokee Freight Lines provides a complete trucking service, maintaining a fleet of more than 300 trucks. The broad range of transporting options includes dry freight, wine tanks, compartment wine tanks, food grade liquid tanks, and sugar pneumatics.

Almost 10 years out of a truck and no refresher course or retraining. That of course doesn't apply to all companies. Also don't settle for bottom feeder companies. Lack of willing drivers means you are interviewing the company to decide if they are worth working for.Silverking and Chinatown Thank this.

Uber, Lyft, Doordash, etc DON'T PAY S#!T. But....go ahead and believe they do. It takes 5th grade math skills to figure it out.

Your car insurance is likely to deny any claim if you get in an accident while working for the likes of Uber & Lyft if you haven't informed the insurance company ahead of time. My state has an endorsement for your car license to work for these types of companies. I wouldn't want to get hit by some moron and then get a traffic ticket and insurance drop me.

Had a friend do Uber. Said it came out to about 16-17 hour not really worth it. I could see a big metro area being decent but not Binghamton with a population of only 40k
