Just got done doing a dedicated Brooklyn to Richmond run this week. Running the city is not difficult **if** you have good directions to the customer. The tight streets will challenge you, but it's all in a days work. The part I hated about the run was the waiting at both ends (12+ hours) and ending up running I-95 at rush hour every day.

I can make more $$$ staying in the midwest and south, pay almost zero tolls and have better roads to drive on and lower fuel prices to boot.

If you are the kind of guy who runs strictly by the numbers it would be difficult to justify running the NE.

All I can figure is that my company must be making mint on the Richmond to NYC runs. It's a straight shot down the New Jersey Turnpike after crossing the Goethal's and Verrazano Bridges, then there is the Delaware Memorial Bridge, Delaware Pike, Susquehanna River bridge at Havre de Grace, then the tunnel in Baltimore. All of these locations are tolled. With EZ Pass I don't know what the total is, but I wouldn't want to pay it.

Just another thought--and I do not know what all the tolls add up to--BUT--it is only 45 miles further to run up into Pa and across--and then the only toll is the Goethels going in--then out thru manhatten and the bronx and presto--one toll--not to mention--only about 1/2 the traffic headaches--we have been doing this for years--not for everyone but it works well for me--and the xtra miles do not near add up to the amount of tolls on 95--not to mention--the time is almost identical with all the BS etc coming up thru dc balt etc~~~~~~~~~
    Just my $.02

I remember my old trainer making it sound like there was bands of roaving gangs that would shot me and steal my truck if I went there. I still havnt gotten the pleasure of going there but not afraid of it.
