South of 195 is actually quite nice. Even the people are decent and not as foulmouthed. Don't mind running there at all, in fact prefer it over Memphis, Atlanta, any where in the sphincter that is Florida.......................


Anything north of 195 might as well be in NYC

As an errant thought I wonder if the guy who bought all those billboards in Jersey blowing his life savings feels even slightly silly

Excellent posts, I agree I have to hate all the 1000+ mile runs coming out of NYC I've gotten since trucking and to think I only had to deal with the same heavy traffic I have in Chicago!

 

i know there is a thread concerning nyc truck route info, but i feel a solution would be a thread specifically discussing actual nyc route info.

In other words, if someone is going to go to nyc, they would post their destination and someone who really knows the area could post actual, accurate route planning.

For instance if you've never been and you get on I-278, just before the atlantic ave exit, there's the 12'6" (or whatever) sign and that WILL TRIP you up unless you know about it.


My very first night out with a trainer on my first job was to NYC. Then within a week i went into nyc and manhattan. So i really didn't know how bad it "supposedly" is. (which it isn't) i think philly and chicago, among others, are much worse.

 

New York marks their over passes a foot lower then what they truely are.
