every company I have applied for has turned me down because I have to suspensions due to unpaid insurance. might have avoided the real big companies like Warner like the plague but it might come down to one of them. anyone have any advice. I'm in Jacksonville Florida and would love to do flat bed.
I don't know what to do anymore.

Were you caught DRIVING without insurance? Or did the state suspend your DL when you let the insurance lapse because you weren't needing the vehicle? If you were driving w/o insurance, you're up a creek because your suspension is due to your driving in violation of the law. If the vehicle was mothballed, that is slightly different. I have a friend who's CDL was suspended because he was on the road and didn't get home in time to have his car emissions tested...and that suspension has never affected his ability to find work (other than getting himself home to get it all cleared up.). Stuff happens, and often times as long as there is an explanation and no actual wrongdoing occurred, you'll be fine. Driving in violation of the law, however, is NOT as excusable...so if you were busted operating w/o insurance, your options will be severely limited...ESPECIALLY as a new CDL holder with no experience.

Do the suspensions show up on your record, or are you just listing them? Have you called the DMV and asked them what the deal was?
-
yes they are showing up on my record. and no i have not called the dmv. id be very surprised if they would bother doing anything about them

If it was truly suspended, and it shows on your MVR, you may be paying some serious dues.
I don't recommend them at all, especially if you're married, but C.R. England will take you when most others won't. That being said, their pay is far below market, their miles (based on Qualcomm message by DM stating what target miles were... and that we were below it) are low. They'll try to push a (in my and my calculator's opinion) predatory lease on you. But they'll hire you.
If you do make that decision, remember it's temporary, and you're using them to get some experience when no one else will take you; and they're using you as cheap labor. -
Also, just for the heck of it call Melton and explain the situation. They're a good flatbed company,
and they hire out of Florida. They also now hire out of school. When I was looking for companies hiring out of the sunshine state, most wouldn't, or required 2 years. -
ll call melton now. thanks.

Western Express has a flatbed division. They'll hire you.
6daysontheroad Thanks this.
