A couple hours to load, then 3 or 4 hours to get to the next "Appointment" that is less than 30 minutes away, then 3 or more hours to get unloaded with their forklift (I could do it with a pallet jack in 30 minutes) and in order to make any money at all, you need to do 2 loads a day, so it ends up being an 18 hour day with most of it waiting for appointments and waiting for what seems like sloths to load and unload you.

Add to that the 15 seconds you have to search the load board, look at the pick up & drop off dates, times and locations, then decide if you can book a load to match the other one you have for the day, all before it gets booked out from under you.
God forbid you get stuck with only 1 load for the day and end up loosing money!

How the heck does anyone make it work!?!?!?!

Get direct freight, stop using brokers. Start going door to door to shippers you've pulled good loads for and put a bid in. Try to bid $100/hour for all time involved.

    lcfd15 and Mike2633 Thank this.
