Swift is one of those companies that's owned by morons. The trucks are therefore spec'd out by morons. Company policies are obviously then moronic. And the biggest moron is the chief Beancounter.

Idiot. The very first thing that happens when you jack around with the factory ECM parameters is you have problems with the emissions devices. If you have an automatic transmission, jacking around with the engine parameters screws the transmission up too.

You would save more money with more efficient use of time. Having your trucks in the shop so much for emissions problems will cost you a lot more than the fuel would. The down time, the loss of productivity.

If your truck is in the shop for more than 4 hours a month, your setup is costing you money. You're losing out on shop time along. Not even counting the loss of productivity, and putting a driver up in a motel.

Your studies were performed in controlled environments, not real world. Did you factor in the breakdown and shop time? There is a price that you pay for detuning a truck from factory specs.

UPS. Over here in Jersey, they drive 55 on the turnpike, even though they can go much faster. I guess they want to stretch out that $33 an hour.

What I don't understand is why you have 13 years experience and you went with swift? I understand that those 13 years weren't till today since you had to serve time in the military but I would think you could find something better than a mega.
