My first suspect would be the person who cleans the shower room. There is no way that would have gone un-noticed while they were cleaning the shower. You need to file a complaint with the police department and have a talk with the manager of the Pilot. The phone company should be able to locate it if it is turned on. I don't know what hoops you have to go through to do that though. Good luck, that really sucks!

Sorry to say driver but someone is enjoying your phone right now. Don't know if that phone has an IMEI number but you could probably get the phone company to zap the phone.

I think you can pretty well figure your phone belongs to someone else now. And I don't think you can't hold the truck stop responsible as they all post that they're not responsible for our property.

    I'm sorry for your misfortune

Iphone's don't have SIM cards in them. You can't even replace the battery in them.

AT&T should be able to trace it if it's been used.

As Nana said, unfortunately Pilot isn't responsible for any lost or stolen items. Since that's known by all employees who work there and given the staff that I saw at that Peelot the last time I was there, I wouldn't be a bit surprised if there isn't a theft ring of employees.

The only way AT&T couldn't track it is if they've jailbroke the phone by now. As I started typing this reply, it'd been 4 hours from your OP, which was at least 2 hours from your leaving Dallas. Best of luck man. I know I'd hate losing my iPhone that I'm posting from right now.

    Texas-Nana Thanks this.

Yes Iphones do have sim cards in them. There is a little whole at the top that has a special tool that you can put in it... or you can use a paperclip. It will open the chamber in the top to the sim card.

iPhones do have SIM cards. I would imagine AT&T can track it regardless of whether it is jailbroken, but only within the accuracy of the cell towers it's connecting to, and they're not going to go through that to find a lost cell phone so essentially kiss it goodbye. If you have MobileMe you can log on and track your own phone but knowing that now doesn't do you any good. :)

my wife had once left her phone at the table of a Red Lobster. We noticed 20 minutes later and went back. it was gone. we knew who the bus boy was and i drilled the guy. the manager swore his staff would never do that. so that night when we went home i KNEW the bus boy took it so i texted my wifes cell and threatened his very life he breathed. saying i know where you are cause i can trace you through the phone, when i find you tomorrow night that he will no longer walk as i will bust his knees...so on and so on. ALL bs...but i wanted to scare the kid into giving it back. well within minutes he texted back scared out of his mind...long story short we met and he gave it back. i went back to manager, got him fired and got TONS of free food out of the deal.

I stand corrected. I just knew that I didn't have to put one in it like I did when I first bought every other AT&T phone I've had, including a Blackberry.

I wonder how many other people know, or rather don't know, about the iPhone SIM card deal.
