I wouldn't consider 1000 dollars to be only a few sheckles. To each is own though. That's why we all run our own trucks, right?

I’ve got my first set of Michelin steer tires and they pull. I know it’s the tires because I crossed them and it pulls the other way now. I’m sure it’s just a freak deal cause most people love Michelin.

Wow, that's a lot for a set of steers. I got my current set of Bridgestones at T/A for around $1,000 installed, balanced and aligned.

They have the $829 OTD deal with Firestones right now. Add $215 for an alignment and the price is not bad at all. Personally, I'm not sure if I trust them after all those people died during their blowout mishap during the 90's though.

Ironmans aren't bad. They are a Chinese tire I think. They wear a little differently I think. I'm not sure if I'd necessarily use them for OTR.

use truckersb2b.com for michelin national account pricing. If you need trailer tires they had a crazy special for 250 bucks last month ... don't know if that pricing is still availible. Steers are usually 500 bucks plus mount. Drives are about the same. I do not know where you are in Arizona ... Jacks tire in Phoenix has treaded me very fair. Still have to use the b2b ... they cant sell me tires for what the wex program does. B2B can be used anywhere nation wide. Great resource for an owner op. Discounts on lots of brands.

I never knew what people liked about Michelins, just the name or the cute "tire guy". While they did give good mileage, I thought they acted "slippery" on wet roads. I tried them all, and got the best service out of Bridgestones.

They are definitely China made. However, I've had zero issues with them and they wear well. For $350 each they're hard to beat. The Firestone deal at TA right now is nice too but just don't know if I trust them anymore. Especially on a steer axle. Very few US tire companies are making their tires here anymore either. Seems challenging to find an affordable US made tire these days.

The Firestone steers are great. Nothing to do with the automotive tire blow out history. They’re basically Last model design Bridgestones.
