I didn't not notice it wasn't latched when I started pulling out and it didn't fall off and hit the ground and I certainly did not yell 4 letter words for 2 hours either.....
I forgot to put my fuel cap on after fueling........

Well...they told me I should look that way now and again. I'm far from perfect. If I were perfect I would have never driven off with my doors open.

I did this myselfjoseph1135 Thanks this. -
I had to do a 90 degree back into a hole in the building type dock, off of a narrow side street. I probably took a half hour...
Thinking back on it, I probably should have been able to see the thought bubble over the head of the dock workers watching me, "I wonder when he is going to realize that he should have opened the trailer doors first?"

If there is one thing I hate about my fuel caps is that d##n chain. My truck has that grate which the chain is attached. Through my travels, that grate gradually rotates, twisting the chain and making it next to impossible to unscrew and remove the fuel caps.
So I removed those chains. Twice now, I have found my fuel caps sitting inside of the top aluminum step. I got plenty of scratch marks where the cap bounced around. I'm amazed they never bounced off.
But as long as we're keeping a tally of forget-me-nots:
Left gear up
Left gear down
Tandems unpinned
Hood on wipers 3x, in one week.
Hood unlatched
Fuel caps
Air lines
Roll up door yes, swinging door no.
Pry bar on trailer
Oil cap
Oil dipstick
Coolant cap
Geez, you never realized how long that list is until you actually add it up. But I am glad none are fairly recent and the bulk were from my early years. I call them learning moments.Trish in SC and joseph1135 Thank this. -
