Same as paying a solo driver $0.40/mile. Only the truck moves further in a work day.

 

Thats about the norm for teams. Somewhere in that range. Call the us marshalls and they will tell you if its legal.

 

They also say they are paying all miles, but then right after say they pay zip to zip. Big difference.

Is 20cpm per driver legal? Yeah. But no team who knows what they're worth will take it. Our solos make more than that and get home every night.

 

If it's raw, from the fields, tobacco, it's not that valuable. Few would try to smoke it. Even fewer would try to chew it. And the tobacco companies are the only ones buying it. So, I can't see too many people wanting to steal a load of tobacco. Just saying.

 

I drove for them back in 1996...
They haul cigarettes out of Greensboro.It is cases that are floor loaded.
They did not even lock the trailers or put a seal on them! I'm sure that may have changed by now.

The owner was a real pecker head to work for but back then the trucks would run 85.
I was getting 36 cpm there back in 96,that was solo driver pay.

 

Really! They have had several of loads stolen....truck,trailer and all from their yard.
I came in one night and the gates and fence was destroyed. They drove right through it!

 

First of all.. warning is this..Craigslist.. Never take jobs advertised on here.. Nothing ever good comes from Craigslist...

 

One of the best paying gigs I found was on Craigslist...Worked 4 1/2 days a week for 1400 plus benefits!
No appointments,had keys to the places and could deliver any time I wanted.
Super easy deal.
Too bad a big company came along and stole the account from them after 14 years.
