does any one know what can be causing fifth gear and tenth gear to pop out . I heard it can be springs under shift tower. Checked for those but don't have any . I had a truck not to long ago do same thing and it was missing a spring , replaced it , started working fine

It’s time for a rebuild. I mean a transmission rebuild, not springs.

If it was that spring with speak of, it would be popping out in “all” the gears. 5 and 10th is the same hole, one is in low side and the other in the high side, but the same hole.

The sliding clutch (or clutch dog) for 5 and 10 is worn out. And after having two crappy experiences having transmissions repaired/rebuilt, I’d recommend to just get a reman direct from Eaton, or whoever, and have it installed.

How does a shift tower get worn out? In all the trucks I've owned, some with over 2 million mikes, I've never had to change a shift tower unless swapping in a different transmission (Like a ten to 13 speed swap). And even then is get a used shift tower and never have a problem.

The spring is not the problem it's the bushing in the ball portion of the shift tower that wears out. Fairly common and a cheap fix if yours has lots of miles.
