Ok, Last month I was on my way from Panama City Beach, FL to Pensacola. I got a speeding ticket going on US 98 and was not aware I just went through a National Park. I was given a 60 in a 45. I called the Chief Ranger to verify it was legit because at that time I was not aware of any Federal Park. I sent a letter to the court asking leniency because I was not trying to speed or disrespect anyone I needed to be at a interview at 3pm and drove in traffic through Destin and got delayed. I do not known the verdict yet. I am currently unemployed and have been reading all the board here non stop for over one week now.
Today on my way to Walmart right out of Church, I get pulled over again. I was not even looking at my speed. There was not one car in front of me or behind me. I was not even sure the cop was coming for me. I get pulled over and explain in honesty. I had no idea I was going 60 in a 45, I just got out of church and have alot on my mind. He gives me a ticket and I ask him if there is anyway he can help me as I am trying to get into CDL School and do not need any negative driving on my record and that I do not have a choice I need to change career fields as I have been unemployed for sometime. He says go to court and he will work with me for No points. Will it still count against me in getting my CDL if there is not Points?
What can i do to get out of this or fix this so it does not damage my record? I have only been pulled over 3 times in 10 years and this year its 3 times in 9 months!!! I am not happy about it. Honestly it does not feel like I am going fast at all just cruising speed. Even on my motorcycle i have gone Warp Speed at one time or another and never got pulled over!![]()
I got another ticket, need experienced advice

Yet another person who got caught speeding and feels the need to whine about it. You got caught you will pay the price for it. Your whining won't go over very well here.
American-Trucker, end of the road, otherhalftw and 3 others Thank this. -
Both speeding offenses show 15 over the limit. Most all (especially training companies) consider this "Reckless"...so big count against you (twice).
What you give for a "reason" for your speeding...it is another proof that you just seem not to be paying attention to what you are doing when behind the wheel. It doesn't matter if it doesn't "feel" too fast, the fact that you aren't controlling every aspect of your driving is not good. Even with 80k lbs under us, we still manage to be aware of our speed and control our speed to the limits wherever we are, even down a grade when the weight wants to push us faster...we control our rigs.
I seem to catch the attitude in your post, that "as long as I don't get caught it is OK"! Well it's not OK...and you need to grow out of your adolescence in driving and learn to maintain all aspects of driving. Just remember...a drivers license isn't a right, it's a privilege...and a CDL is an EARNED privilege above a regular license!
Better start considering a different line of work...2 tickets at 15 over, in the last 9 months isn't anything to brag about!heyns57, Hubcap, Panhandle flash and 2 others Thank this. -
If these two tickets do stick then your driving career might be over before you even get to driving school. 60 in a 45 twice? WOW!! Honestly, you need to be more aware of your surroundings i.e. the speed limit and how fast you are actually going.
otherhalftw and Panhandle flash Thank this. -
First, anything you get fixed, do it before you get your CDL.
Second, you need your ##### chewed and to grow up. I saw a "Warp Speed" rice burner die under the tandems of a trailer once. Not a pretty sight. He was popping wheelies down the freeway and lost it. Blood everywhere! How would you like to be the trucker that killed this idiot? How would you like to live with that! Well, you are headed in that direction if you don't SLOW YOUR ASP DOWN!!
You want to be a trucker? Start by growing up and watching your signs. If you can't do that then stay out of an 18 wheeler, we have too many "throttle jockies" now. And if you can't take this kind of criticism from me here on this forum, you will never make it as a trucker.

Grow up and realize you have a lead foot and don't pay attention. And it doesn't matter how you "feel"!otherhalftw Thanks this. -
I really don't think we need worry too much about the OP ever getting his CDL, and if he does, he likely won't ever find a driving job. . .
otherhalftw and Hubcap Thank this. -
At least show up in court. Most likely the judge will knock the speed down. As both tickets are in limbo, the judge will not know about both of them, so don't say anything. Handle each one at a time. You don't want 15 over on your record. Two tickets 10 over is okay. Then keep your nose clean.
You really need to look at your speedometer as you drive. Too many people let other distractions bother them when the truth is driving requires 100% of your attention, regardless of how easy you think it is, your life or someone elses life can disappear in a second. If you are not paying attention to your speed, what else are you not paying attention too? -
Big Don Thanks this.

I'm cruising down the highway on my DMV Road Test and the Instructor asks "What was the posted clearance on the last overpass?".
That overpass was well over 5 miles back.
I replied, "14' 9" Ma'am".
I say that to say to you that you need to slow down, regard the CDL as something you WORK FOR and be far more aware of your surroundings. If you can't tell the speed limit in a tuner car no one needs you in 80,000 pounds of rolling Mayhem.
It seems that getting your CDL isn't as important to you as you make it out to be. -
The trucker didn't kill this idiot. The idiot killed himself when he lost control of his crouch rocket and slid under the trucks tandems.
halfburn Thanks this.
