Ha, me three. I remember waiting all week for 1-2 hrs of cartoons on Saturday morning. We didn't have cable then, had a piece of an antenna on a pole, 4 channels if I remember correctly.

And let's not forget the Memphis wrestling. At 11:00 on Saturday morning we were going to drop what we were doing and go inside to watch Jerry the king Lawler and Bill Superstar Dundee. my old man would not miss it. Good Times!!!

Yeah, had the Farm Report around 6am on Saturday morning, iirc, then the cartoons. Sunday would be race day. Use ta have to get out and turn the pole till the Ol Man gave a holler, then ya knew the reception was good! Great times IMO...

 

Yep, been there for sure. The stations use to play the star spangled banner and go off the air at midnight.

My daughter's think I'm crazy when I tell them that...

 

Then the colored bars would come on, or she just went to static... no Informercials back in them days! Here around 3am or so when the skip was just right, we used ta get a spanish radio station. That was just funnier than hay for us youngins back then! Lol thanks for the great memories pard!
