If all companies sound good you haven't read the Report A Bad Company Here forum here . It would help if you gave your location .
-
Depends on what you want to haul and where you want to haul it
Chinatown Thanks this. -
Which city & state do you live in? Some may recommend a good company, then you find out you're not in the hiring area.
-
Where are you located? Dry Van, Reffer or Flatbed? That is the kinda info that helps.
Do a bit of checking on the companies you have in mind. Good/bad trucking company forums here is a good place to start. You will have to seperate the general grumbleing from real issues. Then check that companies web site for their hireing area.
As a general rule if the company is always advertizeing, they have a high turn over rate, but check to make sure they aren't expanding or something.
Good luck -
a terminal near you is a big plus , for repairs,a place to park during home time.

Like others have said, it really depends on the type trucking you want to do --- flatbed, dry van, reefer, tanker. I'm extremely new to trucking (to say the least) & leave this afternoon for my first week out in a trainer truck. That said, I'm with McElroy Truck Lines, home terminal located in Cuba, AL. It's a flatbed outfit. I've been keeping up a thread in the Flatbed Trucking Forum here about my experience with McElroy thru orientation & Week 1 training. It's titled "Start At McElroy On Monday!" There are similar threads about various companies all over the forum. Plenty of info to get ya started on some research.

I missed that, lol. Melton has a terminal in Brimingham, not that it's that important. Flatbed company though. Worth a look, good company, good equipment. Hard work if you can deal with that.
