    I agree with this statement... I mean if the driver takes 15, 20 minutes for any inspection that's the drivers call. Personally I do both, pre and post cause I like to be safe and CYA .. but with that said I do think you should choose your battles and maybe it wasn't in the OP's best interest to put their job at risk over 5 minutes. That's my 2 cents anyway

    yup, 5 minutes cost him his job. Just start 5 minutes late and deal with it, you'll either make it up or not. If 5 minutes is that important there are much bigger issues going on.
