I Got Fired For Discussing My Hours Of Service

No one on here seems to understand that postal freight is very time sensitive. If you're running late, it might not be the company that you're working for that you have to worry about. It might be the government telling you to take a hike.

 

Too funny... Well I'm glad that we have a bunch of drivers on the road that don't respect the laws set in place for the motoring public's safety. I prefer not to break the law to help a company out. The fact that I was expected to, and even more so, the fact that drivers would take the side of the company is absurd. The law says 10 hours, not 9 hours and some change!

 

Believe it or not, it was the first time that I ever had a problem with the DM. As crazy as it sounds, it's true. I never had a problem with her... she was the one that hired me, and I was so thankful, I would have done anything for her, except break the law.

 

To do a write up in case it needs something. Why leave it for the next driver... he comes to work and is like, who the hell drove this thing last and didn't write up that clearance light? Then he will be running late from having to get another truck or getting it fixed.

 

They contacted me last week. They are currently doing an investigation as well.

 

No, I haven't left anything out. If I had done so, it would only make me look bad. I'm glad that you had a boss that understood that you should be able to challenge something that you felt was important. I however, got fired for trying to follow the law. The fact that people don't understand that is crazy to me.
