I'm going to start blog for my trucking school here in the newbee area in hopes it will help other noobs like my self. My school starts July 30th. I was lucky enough to get a loan from my father (I think it's a loan he didn't say but I want to pay him back) for $3500 for the school plus what ever expenses I have for other things I have to pay for to get me started.

So Come July 30th at 7 am I start. I have to get up at 5 am do the 3 S's and drive the 45 min drive to springfield for the class WELL worth it !

The class will last until Aug 28th and I will be studying my butt off all that time ect ect...

I hope some of you will follow my blog on my status and I hope this very much helps other people. Not much more I can say cept I'll be driving 04 Freightliners With Straight 10 Speeds and a van behind me..

I can't even begin to say how much I need a CDL and a job it's gotten to the point that I do it or bust! But I'm looking at this as part 20% adventure and the rest a true job and life time career that I know I'll love, hate and ##### about but thats half the fun ! :biggrin_255: Enjoy my Vlog

I was lucky and started July 15th. We've studied General Knowledge and I got a 96 on that and will hopefully take the test for that at my DMV tomorrow.

I'm having some trouble understanding air brakes when it comes to moving the truck to test the brakes on the tractor and also the trailer..

Why do we pull forward? I think we "fan down" the air brakes and watch the needle go below 60 then we pull forward at 5 mph till the brakes on the trailer ? lock in? once that happens we need to build up air again and then test out the trucks brakes by using the parking setting ?

I do not remember the tests. I went and got my permit before the class began.

I read the book and no problems.

Note for people looking to goto school: The first two days of class you will study very hard in the book to the point your very tired but being that you did that it will VERY much help you get your permit so LISTEN to your instructior! ALSO LLCC truck driver school ROCKS even the DMV person said they were good! My instructor Curt Robinson is very knowledgeable with years and years of actual truck driver experience and I greatly appreciate his willingness at all times to go the extra mile for us.

I passed my Gen Knowledge and Combo today! I was pretty stressed out by the end of those two tests so I decided I'd study for air a little more and hopefully take the test tomorrow!

With Air brakes is left, I just took the test about 40 mins ago. Combonation test and gen knowledge. I'm a little mad at my self on gen knowledge because I got a 96 % on the practice test and then got an 86% and passed on the real deal. Combo!! I got a 96 % on the real test

I know I will learn more 0nce I start driving but I still plan to review what i've missed to be the best I can be...
