OK, I got my cdl, now i have prehires from Maverick glass div. Boyd Bro's. Roehl. Conway Truckload and I am talking with a company based in my area called Luckey Transport. What does everybody think, who should I go with? I am not looking for anyone to make my mind up for me, but any input would be a big help. Thanks in advance for any help, opinions, comments you can add.

I would go to a Ltl outfit and tell them you will pick up cigarette buts and scrub toilets until a driving opportunity opens. Then stay there a build seniority and retire young. Here's what happens at these truckload guys..... http://www.thetruckersreport.com/tr...ced-truckers-advice/136907-job-after-job.html

I'm with conway. Pretty happy thus far. Yeah there are bad days but that is with any job. Maverick wouldn't be bad either. They pay well. But like said before, if you can go ltl do it. Your choice is a lot better than some of the others I have seen other guys debating.

Been at Maverick for four years. They work great for me. Just my two cents. A trucking company is like a wife you need to find one that you can live with.
outerspacehillbilly Thanks this. -

Well if you are married Maverick might be the best choice. They are usually home weekends. Your kids are only young once..
IMO you have them in the right order. Maverick is probably the best in pay too. -
Well, Maverick had no spots in glass or flatbed available right now, I went with Luckey Trucking out of Streator Il. It's regional so I will get some more time with mama and the kids combined with only 2 weeks with a driver trainor so I start making paychecks a little faster. I start in vans, and can work my into bulk and then tankers so I can advance in the future. Everyone I talked to said they were extremely happy with Luckey and were treated very well. I interveiwed with the owner himself and I was very impressed, he is very down to earth and a straight up guy. I made the right choice for me and my family. I start orientation thursday and I am really looking forward to getting to work.
Stay safe, Happy trails.
