from Roehl, they wanna have me in for orientation and training. What should I expect from there flatbed division? How is the road test over there by chicago? My favorite thing to think of hauling is stone, I work at a quarry right now and I love stone trucks. Does roehl haul any stone does anyone know off hand?

Unless they haul stone in a dry van nowadays, I think your outta luck. You did do some research on Roehl to know what kind of loads they haul, right?

Have no idea what they haul, frankly it's none of my concern. Just make sure it's properly strapped down and good to go and let me make a dollar or two. I seen a picture on there website of them pulling an excavator on a lowboy I think. How do you get into that whole shindig?

You must be talking about rock from out in the montana mountains where maybe two chuncks make up the whole load. I would not be putting straps on that stuff either. Chain it and treat it like it wants to fall off your trailer because it does and will. Use your brain on the flat bed frieght.this is the end of todays lesson please send me 25 dollars, thank you it will be the best money you have ever spent:biggrin_25519:

Sounds smelly and far, which would probably be a good thing sounds like steady miles? Like I said there is a pic of them hauling equipment on there site? I never pictured a major carrier like this pulling equipment? From what I see and hear it's mainly steel based products which is cool too.

I know that with many flatbed companies hauling heavy equipment like that is considered a "specialized" division and oftentimes pays more and usually goes to the more senior drivers although I am sure there are exceptions.

We haul all different types of freight. We have flatbed, reefer, curtain side, and van.

I started in van then moved to flats. We do haul boulders but not often. Use only chains, no straps on rocks.

As for the hauling lowboys, good luck lol. We have a very small and exclusive heavy haul division. Last I heard its about 40 drivers, the waiting list to get into it is about 80 drivers. The first driver on that list was put on there more than 6 years ago. So to get in you either wait for someone to quit or retire.

Any other questions feel free to pm me or post on here.

We also haul a lot of coils out of Chicago and east Chicago.
