If I could legally scale that,. then its something I would put on my deck.

How ever,. I'm not dumb enough to strap over the top of a tracked machine like that. Especially an older pre-hydrostat machine like that one. That thing will free roll like a unicycle going down a sliding board.

I would have some wedges on both front and rear of the tracks. Then chains,.. lots of chains and binders. Then I would take a picture of it just to piss everyone off and give them something to talk about.

Looks like an old D7. With a blade they are about 45k - 46k lbs. Not sure how much with out the blade.Might be a D8,.. hard to tell from the pic. I just cant see that trailer holding up to having a D8 loaded on it. D8 are about 65k - 70k.

I am curious as to how they got it up on there. Both,.. D7 and D8 are more than I would send up the back of my trailer.

Need to add another 10k just for the winch hanging on the back. A d6n with a winch weighs in at 60k an old d8 close to the same vintage is 80k with the blade and winch.

True,.. I didnt see the winch.

I turned down a high track D5 a couple weeks ago that had not only the winch but a ripper on the back as well. More than I wanted to load on my ramps.

That's ok, I'll snatch a step deck load in a hurry if the money is right. Just doesn't seem to be right money in the last year or so.

Its just business. We all need to eat.

    EDIT:
    Funny you mention money.

Got hooked up with a new broker and have been moving a lot of structural steel for steel buildings. Not exactly my favorite type of load to move or the need for a step. But they pay more than my normal go to's moving OS equipment,.. and I have been banking it for the last few weeks. Down side is they all go to job sites and this rain makes the sites total mud holes. I havent been to a dry site yet.

Yep! And if you're in the right spot at the right time it'd be silly not to do it. If you got the equipment and know how to do it

How about if it loaded and unloaded at places with docks?
