LOL I guess I've lost out on that one now, driving a gasoline tanker... :dontknow:

So back when I was driving for CR England, sitting at the Love's in Burley, ID... Another England driver comes knocking on my door while I wait to go load some potatoes. Seems he was a recent hire who was finally out on his own, and couldn't figure out his logbook.
    I take a look... :smt017:smt107:smt103
So he was teaming, and his co-driver didn't seem to be doing much of anything. I think she had driven all of 5 hours in the last 3 days. His logs were just baffling. 3 hours driving, 5 hours stopped, 7 hours driving, 9.75 hours stopped(LOL!), 6 more hours driving... It was painful to look at. Fortunately the company had noticed and was bringing him back to SLC for remedial logbook training, but I had to laugh wondering if he would make it through the two scales between there and the SLC terminal... I tried my best to explain it to him, but it just didn't seem to catch that he was in deep.

CatCow I can identify with your post on a personal level. No, I was not that England driver. I never had a "trainer" to teach me the logs or anything else. I was prehired while in school, took a one day trip with a "trainer" and then was out on my own. I had a terrible time trying to figure out that #### log book. . .

Interesting how (sort of) intelligent people can just have "mental blocks" on certain things. . .:biggrin_25513:

Me too. Had a darned mental block on the logbooks. Finally bought the computer program (DDL) and ran it for a month. It made it all "click" and I never had a problem since.

Yeah, too bad that program was not around when I first started driving. But it was when I went back OTR after being local for a bit. And even then, it helped a lot.
