It’s the other car getting towed that makes it a DOT preventable. If you had received a citation, that would have made it much worse for you than it is.

The boss told me, "you are now an experienced truck driver, because now you know what can happen". He was a sharp guy, lived to be 94, he did, and saw a lot of drivers come and go, and knew I was worth keeping. Sadly, drivers don't get that chance today. That crash, as big as it was, was never mentioned in any interviews, and never held me back. Be a different story today.

OP, it’s the phone in conjunction with the accident that required a tow. Basically you got in an accident from distracted driving and that distracted driving was from using a phone. And you’re new. I know anyone can make mistakes out here, you might otherwise be a good driver. The issue is insurance. These companies literally cannot pick you up, even if they wanted, their insurance won’t allow it. You’ve got two choices as I see it. Apply for some really shady Chicago type outfits, or do something else. Maybe you could on with a local outfit driving box truck deliveries, food service etc.

So Update. Called Werner to clarify the reasoning of termination. They said it was just violation of company policy. It doesn’t say anything about an accident on my sac report. So how could my accident get to the other companies?
