The idiot did not have room to make his right-hand turn unless i backed up. And I did not have any way of knowing that the driveway was entrance only. So I did not know that the driver of the green truck was in the wrong. Without the benefit of hindsight of knowing that the green truck was in the wrong, what should i have done?

Can we get a picture? I'm about due for a new avatar.

You are wrong. I was there. There was NOT room for the other driver to make a right hand turn out of the entrance with my truck there. There are only two driving lanes on that street. I was blocking the turn lane. It was a semi-truck with a sleeper berth and a 53' trailer. The green truck was set up in the right lane of the driveway. The only way that there would be room for the green truck to make the right hand turn is if the green truck was set up on the LEFT side of the driveway. But as i said, the green truck was set up on the right hand side of the driveway.

You both had your head up your ###. If either one of you would have been paying attention this problem would have been avoided. And to add insult to injury. You only just now realized you can’t see a car right on your tail???!!! Smh

Ridgeline, could you elaborate on this? Do you just mean "You never ever back up on a city street to let someone else have room make a right hand turn"? Aren't there sometimes situations where trucks are blocking each other and one of them has to back up or they will both just be sitting there until the end of time?
@MACK E-6
@D.Tibbitt
What do you think about Ridgeline's statement "You never ever back up"?
P.S. Yes, I was at the South Pilot, not the North Pilot. -
Better late than never---- LOL
It could be a lot worse. What if I backed up and crashed into a car right on my tail? -
I said before you shouldn't backup.. even with a flatbed I can see much better, but I've still had cars sneak in behind me where I can't see them...
You should never find yourself in a position where one of you needs to backup . You need to learn to anticipate stupidity. Always expect someone to fill the space you need to turn. That means yield the space to stupid guy until you 100% know you can complete the manuever...LoneRanger, FullMetalJacket, Kyle G. and 1 other person Thank this. -
You would have been issued a ticket and rightly so.
