Use a small piece of mudflap, bolted to the vehicle, then bolt the light to the other side of the mudflap. Gives the light a buffer to move, but not shake rattle and roll and shake loose the bulb.

Same in Canada. They don’t even need commercial plates to be subjected to a DOT inspection. And at the end of the day Load securement should be the same for everyone. I’ve been tempted to get a job for DOT, I’d spend 1 day a week only pulling over Farmers and 1 day inspecting 4 wheelers which are generally hauling an ATV. Then everyone at random. But to me, farmers will always be 100 times worse than any Hotshot or OTR guy.

Please snag the half ton pickups with a sled deck, and a pair of sleds on it as well. Those SUVs towing a large travel trailer. And anyone who straps luggage on their roof piled over 25" high, held on by 1 or 2 snap straps.

    I can’t get past this …
Crocky, the fmcsa has nothing to do this, the state does the enforcement.

Up here there is a lot of crap running as hotshot rigs and car haulers, saw one the other day that reminded me of the good old ‘70s, the bed was so rusted the fenders were flapping in the wind because the bungee cords were rotted away, it had three cars on a trailer.

I passed some sort of contractor in a Silverado and the dude had his 10-12 foot ladder hanging WELL over the side of his bed. Basically his ladder was riding in the lane next to the one he was occupying
