The letter of the law reads ANY THING related to the truck goes on the log.

I never did any thing more than I had to. The blasted 70 hrs went by too fast just logging actual work.

I know that scale well 5mouths.
When I was bringing my tractor home just after purchase, that was the only scalehouse between where I got the truck and home. Of course I got pulled in for a full inpsection. I guess whenever you go through that coop with temp tags, it's a written invitation.

    I can relate....

Hubby goes by that one all the time, and I have yet to see that thing open. :biggrin_2551: Guess I'd better warn him about it. He runs that stretch at least twice a week. I wonder if this is the same DOT that is currently in a law suit with a farmer for pulling his gun on him??? Supposedly it was in that area. :biggrin_2554:

LOL, that's the one I went through right after I picked up a new hopper in Souix City last year. Empty with a brand spankin new trailer, didn't figure there was any chance they would inspect me, yeah right! My logbook and paperwork were fine, my truck with 1.1 million on it was fine, the trailer with less than 10 miles on it had a brake out of adjustment! They got a laugh out of that, said I should call Wilson and have them come down and adjust it for me.

I guess the easy answer to the OP is this:

What you do in your off time is none of their business. It doesn't matter if you are off for 5 days or 25 days. Your off-time is your own.

    7mouths2feed Thanks this.
