A little ranch and cheese...



My trainer just called me, expressly to congratulate me on making a full year. I've truthfully got about 10 more days I think, but what the hey. It's flown by, that's for sure.

I brought up that I hadn't seen any of the guys I was hired onto the Jcp account with (there were 3 or 4 others.) and he just kinda went silent. In a way, I guess that kinda confirms my suspicions.

Called it a night early. I need to get these #### solar panels removed, now that I've run at night for a year, running in the daytime messes with my clock. ...and I'm not speaking of the DOT clock either. Parked at the wilco Hess off i85 exit 106 in sc.

I'm amused at the parking lot...



It's almost 5, guess it's a little early for the solar panels to be getting in just yet.

At least I have protection. One should always use protection.



I'll check over this way when I get to moving in 10 hours. If anyone is parked there, I'm going to laugh and post the proof.

Dispatch informed me that I've got a PM on my truck come Saturday. Guess this is everyone's week to get a pm eh?

Brought 2 boxes with cookware, stove, food, this and that... laundry bag, bag with more stuff, 2 laptops, bag with paperwork and documents... took all the food out of the cooler and brought it in 3 bags... Nice day cab driver brought me here...

Brought my super powerful blender...



Already made a nice shake...




The bathroom seems to be pretty clean...


and it has a bath tub... Haven't soaked in a hot bath tub for years... seems will do it this weekend...
Got wi-fi here so I can watch some Brazilian music videos for free... Now watching some Spanish TV station..
And my DSP told me that other driver can't deliver my load for me and the receiver can wait till I can deliver the load next week... Yeah!!! Seems I'm still on this load... Did my happy dance in the dispatchers' room...
Now... what I would like to have here is a vehicle... so I could go buy some more fruits, etc...

 

Ah Malaga, have spent a couple of nights @ the truck stop up the street. No parking open @ Brooks ranch.

Had to get fuel and the TA/Petro was cheaper. Pretty well figured it was time to shut down when I took the wrong ramp and ended up at the Petro. TA there tends to be a penny cheaper.

Shoulda rolled down 15. Ran down the 405 and it took a bit over 5 hours.
When I left GPS showed 09:10 for arrival time.
Sun came up Jumped to 10:00 and some change.
Got down to the basin and it was showing 11:45 at one point. got there @10:30

 

Hey... Spanish tv station here is showing a soap opera from Brasil... translated to Spanish... didn't know it was Brazilian till I saw images from Rio... the name of it is "Avenida Brasil"... never heard...
BTW, that Rio de Janeiro is soooooo freaking violent... in one little children's school, teachers kept kids singing loud while there was a gun shooting outside between police and bandits... so they couldn't hear the noise and get scared...
Olympics will be next year and they have not prepared the city as it was planned... lots of unfinished constructions, a lot of mess on the streets, not enough money... yeah, corrupt politicians stole it all...
And the city is not safe to receive all the tourists... Unless government puts tanks and the military on the streets again... like they did in 1992 during the Eco Summit...

 

TA just as you get off of 81 in VA to 77.....Thought I would be late coming in and for the first time I reserved a space. Of course I didn't need it but glad I did anyways.

 

Looks like the old Warfield truck stop in Midland is getting ready to reopen. It's got a steak n shake. The new pilot with the Moe's is almost done too. Too bad the oil field guys will have them trashed within a month.

 

Not very happy with my fleet manager today. I am sick but still ran all of my loads etc. I have always felt if you have to feel like crap it's better to get paid for it. I get all of my runs done this week and as I am heading to Charlotte for my home time and start on antibiotics.

Well I get a load assignment that I don't even have the HOS left to think of running it. I free form my fleet manager and he sent me an hour up the road to the gatorade plant to meet another driver delivering there that was picking up my load to deliver Monday so he could go home. I talked with security at Gatorade and they let me drop that load for the other driver to pick up so I could get under my new load that delivers tomorrow.

So I am sick and shorted on home time for another driver that has nothing to do with me. I am always the one who will run a weekend if needed etc so I am quite irritated now along with being sick. However I will not be available again until Wed morning when I finish this!
