@sshewins, I've thought about instead of a bicycle, getting a Honda Ruckus and putting it on the catwalk.

Since we haul mostly light loads. Ruckus weighs under 200lbs and can do up 30 mph. Think it gets like 200 mpg. In Illinois gotta have a license for it and the other thing stopping me is the 200 lbs. Don't think it would be a fun getting it on the catwalk even with piece of wood to use as a ramp.

Just got done meeting one of the legends of TTR Mr. @RedForeman. Very cool guy. Hung out for a little bit at Five Guys and gossiped. Really nice meeting you ! Look forward to doing it again. :biggrin_25519:

    I wish. :)

I do recognize a few of those.

On top, we have an M1917. I brought one of those home yesterday.

    2nd is a Mannlicher M95-30. The 3rd one is definitely a Lee-Enfield, followed by a Gewehr 98. The 5th one down appears to be a Krag-Jorgensen.

Third from the bottom is definitely a very beautiful beechwood Swiss K31. I have one in walnut, 1938 manufacture. :)

Below that is an Italian model 1891 Carcano, similar to what was used to assassinate Pres. Kennedy. And on the bottom is a nice looking French MAS 36, that's only been dropped once. :)

Just made it back home. I've been accused of being a legend in my own mind maybe. Thanks for the satellite TV briefing - one of these days I may come back and ask again. By the time I get around to doing something I'll have forgotten it all LOL. Mrs Duo peeked out as she was demonstrating the end user part of the TV setup. Seemed to be working really well and the dogs were helping keep everyone safe. We walked over to the 5 guys patio where stories were told and absent folks were talked about. That is all.

On the way down there from KW, I dipped on to the side streets thru the hood to avoid the destruction backup on 285 and think I went past that Heartless yard @flyingmusician speaks of. That's kind of in the area where the GA state patrol used to have an office for their emissions testing department. It was an office staffed with armed police officers and you had to get buzzed thru a secured door to come in. Really nice neighborhood (Bankhead Courts for some that might be familiar). Bummer to see the old Bolton Rd Ace Hardware finally sold out. That place was there forever. One of the old school hardware stores that had everything you could imagine, stuffed into a store smaller than a circle K.

Be sure to put a tape measure between the back of your bunk and the forward corner of a trailer to make sure one would clear. Lifting isn't as bad as you'd think - you'll only be lifting one end at a time. A narrow aluminum ramp wouldn't be too hard to secure either. You could probably find one of those Chinese scooters for cheap that would be even lighter and narrower. Just remember it's going to be covered in road crud setting back there in the weather.
