As luck would have it, my smarter half was at home for dog sitting, so I got some "me" time on this trip. I had almost forgot what it was like to take a ride in my pickup without getting slobbered on. I also knew Duo has the two little ones running loose, so Lucy likely would have likely stayed outside on her leash or in my pickup. They were parked in a huge retail center, so the restaurants were only a short walk away.

she was 4. we had her 3 years. the problem only showed itself in the last 2 years. I practice and adhere very strongly to the pack mentality and hierarchy in the house and always made sure each dog knew their place in the order, that I was the alpha and then my wife and that she was last. dogs are genetically programmed to live that way whenever more than one is in a household or in the wild.

it works very well in theory and practice. the other dogs are older and I think that was part of the issue and she felt the need to assert herself periodically as she was the younger of the group.

interestingly enough I was listening to a dog program on public radio the last time I was up in Wisconsin and this subject was the topic for discussion. the vet on the program stated that whenever there are several female dogs in a house that this kind of thing can happen. randomly and for no reason and with no discernible trigger. 3 of the 4 were female. my big boy is the only male.

I think that's what pisses me off the most about animal control. you can bet if it had been anyone other than me or one of the other dogs that had gotten bitten, they would have broken their ####ing neck to get out there and pick her up and file some kind of charges. but, as it was me, the owner, they couldn't be bothered with it on a Saturday.

useless ####ing city employees. I'm not done with that by any means. it will be addressed as far up the tree as I have to shake branches to make my point

as it is I am glad it was me and nobody else.

...that my company safety boss lent me. I have never been able to perform a parked regen in this truck... However I was able to do it in all other trucks in my former company... So, I think there was some problem with this truck... It never asked me to do a parked regen... but I had many problems with DEF system in the past and was told to perform a parked regen...

Walked to Walmart for more groceries... it was only 1.5 miles... and than took a cab back to hotel... :biggrin_25519:
