Your submarine shall now be known as Seymour B. Utts...

Funny how appearances can be so wrong. My fiancée has a cousin who is covered from head to toe in tattoos, has piercings all over and dresses like a punk.

Yet if you talk to him with your back turned, you get the image that he's sharply dressed, and looks like someone coming out of an Ivy League school. He just graduated with honours too, doctorate program. ...couldn't tell you his major, I'm not sure of it.

    @flyingmusician

We've a similar ordinance where I live, but nobody enforces it unless it's an out of hand problem.

We've got 5 dogs, grandparents have 3. The pit got into a fight with another dog once, he was trying to protect my grandfather from another dog. Grandfather tried to separate them and his dog bit him. We lied to the doc and police about it.

Pits are amazing dogs if they are raised right, but so many don't raise them right.

Kind of like truckers. We catch a bad rap from the one ####### that can't drive or doesn't respect the area he's in.

No doubt written in confusing language that the authorities will interpret to their advantage. Like El Paso's cell phone whIle driving. While the city council assured us that "hands free" devices were legal, the way the law is written, no cell phone use is permitted that can be deemed "distracting while driving" by law enforcement. So many people using wired headset devices got ticketed because the officer deemed that headset "distracting". Others using Bluetooth headset devices and were observed talking were also cited.

The El Paso PD made no apologies, said the way the law was written, they could write those tickets.

The law in neighboring Las Cruces, NM specifically allows hands free devices as written. Why our city council didn't just mirror that law rather than stupidly writing their own...who knows.

This is the same city council that voted to tear down city hall to build a baseball stadium in order to land the worst AAA minor league team in the west.

    Yep that's exactly right.

Mine was just being a dog. She wasn't even a full pit but it was the dominant in the mix. She was a mutt. Having 4 dogs is like have 4 kids. They're going to get into disagreements. It was becoming an issue though even as random and rare as it was as the other dogs are getting old and she was still young. I didn't want her hurting one of the other ones and the border is becoming a crabby old woman now and didn't tolerate her high energy playful nature as well as she used to. We had already been discussing rehoming her somewhere that she would be the only dog in the home. She would have been a perfect pet in an environment like that.

Everything is relative. Including this statement. :D

Fun fact: Einstein was noted for having a bad memory. He was also noted for taking early morning walks. He would often forget the location of his own home, so to prevent walking into someone else's house, he had his front door painted red.

    Pioneer Villa, Halsey, OR.

Rain last night over Donner was a pleasant surprise. Got Rain again this evening starting at the Oregon Line.

Opened the door this morning to the sulfery smell of fried batteries. Rolled the dice and lost. Called Petro out to swap all 4.

Ran US395 to CA40 to CA89. Have never gone north outa Reno before. Good roads and nice to be not on the Interstate.

Normally new roads brighten my mood a bit but not this time. CHP had set up shop at the Okie.. I mean produce checkpoint. Just kinda set me off on the wrong mental path. They were not doing anything wrong per say. Just don't like the totalitarian show of force that they are out to get the evil trucker. Rubs me the wrong way.

Got out of the desert and into where the trees should be. That was just sad. When there were trees they did not look healthy. Very drought stressed I would say. Then every few miles I would roll through different stretches that had burned at different times over the past 4 or 5 years. Some areas freshly blackend some just ground cover with burnt out stumps. I know fire is part of the forest ecosystem out here, but this was like a bad lab experiment that got way out of hand.
