    Lake park at the J

Headed up to Macon for what most likely is a live load then out to new Albany to the malwart. Probably home from there that'll give me 3+ for the week.

Didn't make any friends with the guys in Jax today. They just don't know it yet. Bunch of jack ##### running out of that drop lot so I don't really care.

Get there and first empty has a soaking wet note in the connector that says out of service. Doesn't say why.

They like to back the trailers into the trees so we can't tell whether they're loaded or empty. They'll also put seals on the good empties to 'save' them for themselves. When it rains it makes a lake around the tandems that makes the problem worse. I hooked, pulled out, checked, backed in and dropped 3 before I found an empty. Then realize it has no left side mudflap and the hanger is bent all the way in to the tires.

Rinse and repeat for a total of 5 before I found a good empty. Called maintenance just to report the problems to make sure they knew and would get them fixed since this is a remote drop lot. They didn't know. Nobody reported them.

Then they transferred me to safety who made a BIG deal out of it, especially the missing mudflap and bent hanger. She wanted pics so I sent them in and added one more of all the trailers shoved up in the trees and ended with 'as long as we're addressing issues in Jacksonville....." She was not pleased. make my life difficult will ya? I've had a bad enough week. I know 5 phones that are gonna be ringing. I have no sympathy for them at all.

That's a fairly new drop lot and new drivers to the company. They haven't learned that we work together here and don't screw the other guy. They're gonna learn quickly.

Yep. The company won't put up with that. They'll get on board or go

One thing I like about being here. It's a good bunch of folks. Everyone is willing to pitch in and help out the other guy and especially the newer guys since we don't get things like routing or directions or customer notes.

You're hired expected to know what you're doing and do it with minimal supervision.

Guys like that don't last long.

    @flyingmusician

I see that quite often at Sni, but I am of the very strong suspicion (I mean I have no proof) that it's a mix of people who just don't give a #### and those who are "saving the good ones" for themselves.

For a while, the non-dedicated lots had a problem with sealed empties or kingpin locked empties. They still do have a problem with it too.

Just on the Jcp lot though, I've lost count of how many bent hangers there are. It's not uncommon for me to roll with an "okay" unit, only to drop it at the nearby repair yard.

Most common issue is the abs system. It's not a dot thing, but if I'm going to pull it then it better be in good shape.

Hopefully those 5 phone calls will jerk a knock in their arse so they don't do it again.

In all fairness, dedicated doesn't give us much time for any extra and the repair shop, while close, is out of the way. I always have to call and tell someone that I'm dropping at the shop, I'll usually get an extra 30-45 minutes to do the drop (which often times isn't enough).

The load this morning was a CH Robinson load. They told us that we needed to contact the receiver to set a delivery appointment. Leti in dispatch called them. They said "Appointment? It's first come first serve, 8 to 5.".

I took that as an ok to stop in Van Horn for breakfast. :)
