####....I just took out a dog on MS-13. Decided to just cross the street in the middle of the night out here. Had to be a stray as there isn't much out here. He went under my right steer...and I literally want to cry. Sigh.
Wasn't a safe place to pull over so I called it in and pulled over to inspect the truck. No damage and the sheriff thanked me for calling and said they would take care of it.Rocks, HeWhoMustNotBeNamed, RedForeman and 4 others Thank this. -
My get up and go has gotten up and left. Don't feel like laying here, but don't feel like moving.
First time I haven't had to idle the truck in a while. I'm happy with it, just wish it was a little cooler here.
Saw a glimpse of my paycheck for next week and my jaw hit the floor. Getting paid for doing training, getting the last of my sign on bonus, reimbursement for school, plus the loads I ran. There's still one or two loads that haven't been added in yet.
Good timing as far as I'm concerned. Insurance for the new truck is 560$ for 6mo, to me that's a large increase. I've been used to 320$ for bare minimum for 6 months.
Fiancée couldn't help but shoot daggers at me through the texts as I complained about the increase... "I pay 1200$ for 6 months for full coverage. Don't you complain about that price tag!" Given the vehicle she's got, I think she's overpaying... Mid 90's Mazda truck.
Guess I better get moving. Parked here last night for easy access to coffee. Wouldn't you know it though, this is one of those times when coffee just doesn't appeal.HeWhoMustNotBeNamed, sshewins and chopper103in Thank this. -
I have hit a shovel. Went right underneath the steers (both) and spit back out from the trailer tires. Thought I saw a chunk of rubber go with it, but I couldn't find anything when I pulled over to look things over.
One tough as nails shovel too...saw it spit back out whole in the mirrors. -

It took me 1/4 mi to stop and pull over and check for damage. Nothing. Not even a scratch or an air line or loose wire anywhere. By the time I got to the back, the furniture owner had already run up and snatched that cushion. Looked like it used to be a pretty nice piece of furniture LOL. I didn't even waste time checking on the dummy that lost it. Once I found my truck whole, I got going.
Edited to add: I bet you Ashley drivers have wet dreams about crushing some furniture under your wheels LOLTruckDuo, chopper103in, Vilhiem and 2 others Thank this. -
I've hit a live turkey as well who committed suicide on my bumper but really the only thing worse to me than hitting a human is hitting a dog. Just made this night a bummer.Rocks, TruckDuo, Vilhiem and 1 other person Thank this. -
