20 was shut through town but still open back out to 95. Not sure what they did later this morning but morning news the governor said she was going to shut down all interstates in Columbia again this morning. Never heard if they did or not.
Exit 5 was closed with water standing a good 4-5ft in the roadway far as I could see in either direction with cars covered to the roofs.
Every creek, stream and river was overflowing at least 1/2 mile to a mile on either side.
The water plant off 77 around the 3 had water almost to the tanks and the whole area was flooded. It'll be at least a week before it all subsides.
Wanted to get pics but conditions were too bad had to watch the road.Rocks, sshewins, TruckDuo and 1 other person Thank this. -
Wilco in Valdosta.
Picking up plywood down the road in quitman in the morning headed back up to advance -
Taking my 10 at customer in SC after a drop and hook... this is the second time I come here... The drop and hooks are a PAIN IN THE FREAKING REAR END... It goes as follows:
drop empty in the parking lot
hook to loaded trailer at the worst dock of the building and pull it out
drop loaded trailer on the parking lot
hook to empty trailer on the parking lot and put it on the same freaking dock the loaded one was
hook back to the loaded trailer that had dropped in the parking lot
Did all that under rain today...
And the freaking loaded trailer has a bad light on top...
And the darn inspection station is just a few miles up the road...
Called maintenance boss to see what he would suggest, he was leaving the office... told me to call so and so repair shop in this town...
I did, but the shop does only road assistance... and it costs $ 339.73 just for labor and service...
Boss told me to call him in the morning... at 8 am...
Got a GREAT tip from Mr. FM here... who knows this region very well... and he confirmed the route I had in mind to avoid the inspection station...
Called Brintle's Travel Plaza, they do repair lights on trailers...will be there before they open in the morning and will have this taken care of before Mr. maintenance boss arrives at his office.
Taking this load to PA and then will have another pre plan sent to me tomorrow...
Gotta cook something now... -
