Agreed. One of the advantages of running this Choice program. I have parking in cities like Houston, Dallas, Charlotte, West Memphis, Carlisle, Phoenix and Fontana (if I ever go west)..etc...anytime I want. But that being said I am always scoping places to park if and when I leave.

All he needs to do is drop the air bags and deflate the tires and he can get in there. I know he can because I seen it done in a movie I watch. I think it was smokey and the bandit

I had to go almost 20 pages back to find these postings from earlier this afternoon...

    Here I asked...
    And here was your answer...

So... in your opinion, is there or is there not enough truck parking? Now you got me confused... :biggrin_25526:

The northeast... that region is a lost cause...

In my case, most shippers don't have overnight parking... not their "fault".... their places are too small, some have a fence and a gate they lock after hrs... Some big shippers and receivers have large lots but just don't allow OTR trucks there...

I don't know, since you asked that totally NON pragmatic Fat Daddy dude, BUT as I understood it I think this was what he might have meant. IF ( very big If ) ALL ( or Most ) parking is utilized effectively, there is enough.. but like I said, that's FD's question. I probably shoulda kept my yap shut. ...................................................................................................................................................................................................................... Now, here is where I hafta disagree with you Rocks. That last part, where you said " not their "fault" ... " ??? .... If the place of business doesn't Normally have Truck traffic, then I can agree that it's acceptable. BUT if a place of business normally DOES have Truck traffic it should be Mandatory that they provide parking for a realistic number of Trucks. No exceptions. I've almost been run over unloading on the side of a road at a BMW Dealer up in the NE. There was that video posted here a while back that showed a Car Hauler run into by a car. No excuse for that or any business not to provide a minimum amount of parking. IMO.

I traveled with my ex-husband for over one month in 1992.. He was not a truck driver... he bought an old 1972 Chevrolet straight truck, with a flat bed... he built walls, put a tarp on top, made it a box with doors in the back and hooked his pick up truck behind... We crossed the US from Oregon to California and then to up state New York... stayed there for 4 months and then down to Georgia... We had some mechanical problems while on the road.. he had to replace the water pump on the side of the road, the alternator and did a few other repairs at rest areas... I slept on the front seat of the truck the whole time... and he slept in the pick up... Yes... that's how it was... I cooked in rest areas, wherever I could... It was an awesome trip.. for me at least...
