    The only time I've seen worse was in São Paulo. The office compound was actually a compound. Private security at the gate with automatic rifles. We had a private driver to take us back/forth from the hotel. He frequently took short cuts off the main highway to avoid traffic jams that make rush hour in US big cities look like nothing. Most of the private residences were mini-compounds. Fences, cameras, mean dogs, you name it.
