Oh...! Did anyone have parents old school enough to not only use a switch, but also force you to go and pick your own out...?

That's what my parents should have done from the beginning... My grandfather was raised that way, I think we only got in trouble while he was watching us once.

Every time we did not bring back a proper switch, he would add one more smack when we did find the right one...

    That #### hurt...

Anytime we started down trouble again, he'd only have to say, "my tree out back needs trimming...don't you boys think?"

You know what they say about preacher's kids?

You know what they say about teachers kids?

Momma was a teacher, daddy was a preacher. ;)

That's how my mother was raised. She's a tough ole' bird too. I'm 6'1". She's barely 5'. I still wouldn't cross her to this day!

That was my grandmother. Even into her 80's the great grandchildren were being indoctrinated to her style of discipline. She'd still chase them across the yard even at that age

The key to a long lasting very happy old school 50's style marriage hehehe

But it only works by mutual consent. Don't dare try it with the bimbo you bring home from the bar on Friday night lol

    @Straight Stacks @flyingmusician

Oh my mother is 5 foot nothing... An inch shorter and she could've collected disability for being a midget. (I'm not joking.)

I don't cross my parents out of respect...but they shot themselves in the foot. I respect them enough to not cross them, but I also respect them enough to call them out of bullsnit.

I have been dutifully informed that the day that I call them out more than they call me out...it's time for a nursing home.

I hope one of these days spanking is again considered a viable punishment... I intend to spank my kids.

The trick is to never spank when you're angry... If you can muster that, then you decrease the chances of going overboard.

...either way... It's amazing how fast old folks can move. Especially when it's their turn to give their brand of discipline!

The other thing that amazes me...is how much little old ladies can pack away at a church pot luncheon.

I'm getting some really cheap and hilarious entertainment watching the little puppy lol

She's so tiny and bouncing around like a little jumping bean. Everything is so new and exciting and she's learning the world around her. She has 2 speeds. Wide eyed and wide open or sleeping.

Big boy and the boxer still aren't sure what to think about her. I have to say I'm really surprised by the border. Turns out she has a mothering instinct in her after all lol she's kind of taken to the little big boy.
