Like everyday now, started this morning walking for 30 mins from hotel to bus terminal in Cabo Frio, RJ, and took a bus to the house...

Met someone at the house and gave him a "briefing" on what he will do after I'm gone... The weather was nice, hot and sunny... I wanted to go check on the water, but sat at the veranda waiting for my neighbor to give him some instructions too...

After all done... the weather changed... and by the time I was ready to go to beach, some strong rain came...

So... I decided to collect some rain water in a barrel and store it in the house... there's no street water in it right now. And I also checked around, looking for any leaking... Seems the roof job is working... :yes2557:

It was a passing cloud and soon one could see those blue skies again...

I walked to the beach and sat for a while... I don't like this beach... the sand is thick and rough... the tide has a strong pull and the ground drops quite a lot...

And the water is always cold... :biggrin_2552: for me at least...

Enough "resting"... and planning my next couple of days here...

Took a bus back to Cabo Frio... and as I was passing by São Pedro D'aldeia, the sun was out again...

Arrived in my hotel and found most of the guests leaving after this holiday... Took a shower and went out again for some food...

Couldn't find exactly what I wanted... So, I got a portion of french fries and salad of cooked legumes... Threw those eggs away cause I don't eat eggs... :biggrin_25512:

Going to take a bus tomorrow at 8 am to the city of Rio de Janeiro and will stay there all day doing some little shopping... May not go anywhere but downtown... It's almost 3 hr bus ride... almost 6 hr round trip...

The price of my medication pretty much depends on the exchange rate. It's always MX$850 Last time it favored the Dollar and my medicine cost $51. This time it favored the Peso and it was $59. I could probably save a bit by exchanging on the El Paso side before I cross because they tend to give a slightly higher Peso to Dollar rate.

In the early '90s when Mexico reworked their currency and introduced the "New" Peso, the exchange rate was MX$3 to the dollar.

The "New" Peso... and dollar went from $3 to $15...? :biggrin_2554: Seems there's a lot of inflation going on there...

truck rest area I-20wb aiken, sc

really wanted to make the welcome center at the line but after getting jerked around by pepsi in tampa 4hrs this morning this was far as I could get after doing my drop in Columbia.

got a deadhead to Atlanta to the heartless yard out of columbia. no telling what I get out of there in the morning but those Atlanta area loads usually aren't very attractive. just bs trips to get us repositioned to the nc or ms DC.......unless someone just dropped something sweet on the yard there they're planning on me grabbing tomorrow. taking an empty into a dropyard never is ideal. guess i'll find out in the morning.

at least i'll go in at the tail end of rush hour and not right in the middle of it.

You get used to it lol. Cows are usually less restless than pigs but stomp more so you get a gunshot sound now and then.
