Prior to 1993. The Peso was valued at MX$3,000 to the dollar. Then Mexico reworked it and dropped 3 zeros. For about two years prices were listed in both New Pesos and old Pesos until the old currency was out of circulation. But the Mexican economy was never really known for its stability and inflation took over.

The truck never came back from KW until late afternoon....As I was preparing to depart from corporate HQ they just had to ask...."do you think you could get your 1st Houston stop off by the close of business tomorrow" ??

I just shook my head and walked away without saying a word...


sure northeast PA to Houston in a day and a half why not....

I'll be in Houston tomorrow night but I wasn't about to commit to before the close of business....

Hey Mr. kat man, thank you... Yes... that truck strike... I stopped following news about truckers here because I've been very very busy. But I saw on TV some weeks ago that there's a new law for truckers. Truckers will not pay tools on "suspended" axles when empty... But the public will pay to compensate for that loss of revenue.... The "new" trucker's law here in Brasil that took effect about one month ago deals with HOS, tolls for trucks and creation of rest areas for trucks... which are practically NON-EXISTENT... However, everything is still under discussion, A LOT of discussion and disagreements. Nobody knows yet how to put in practice what has been decided. This country is a very chaotic place... With regard to the HOS, there has been no enforcement... so it's still the same old same old... The creation of rest areas for trucks... another promise from the government that is VERY FAAAAAR AWAY from becoming reality... Some truck stops here allow truck parking only for those that fuel a certain amount...others allow only those who have some kind of formal agreement with such places... And independent truck drivers are left out... with no place to park...
