if you're at that TA hope you got a nice safe place on the back row. Seen a hood or 3 mangled on that front row when people leave from there.

Prescott, Ar at the TA. Ugh. TA 2 nights in a row. Just luck of the draw where the clock ran out.

Another long deadhead 548 back to ecru out of seagoville. Expected beer out of Houston back to Ms that's usually the drill out of Dallas area but didn't happen. Offered to hang out in Dallas for the night if they could get a load out by morning. Too much of the manager in me I hate running an empty truck. She said no bring it on back to ecru and grab a load home don't want the truck sitting.

One thing about running with a private fleet I'm finding. Since the trucking side isn't where they make their money long as they break even on the fleet as a whole they're good with it. If I was still with Epes I'd have sat there till a load presented itself. And have lol in Terrell for 2 days one time back in the bad old days.

So, home by mid morning Saturday with 3406 and 1086 of that deadhead miles this week. Inefficient use of truck and driver annoys me but it's their game their rules. 9 months in with them and I'm still learning how to break the old mindset of as few empty miles as possible

    President Vargas Ave. facing south...

Not very fun to do shopping on a rainy day... :biggrin_25512:

    Candelaria Church in the background...

The electronic clock shows, 16:45... Rush hr approaching...

After my shopping, arrived at Rodoviaria Novo Rio at 18:23 and all buses to Cabo Frio were full... Next one would be at 20:30... :biggrin_25510:
So... I went back outside and took a shuttle... not legal... Although clandestine business, there are lots of cars and other vehicles taking passengers to Cabo Frio and other cities in that region... They operate outside Rio's bus terminal... After one hr waiting, driver got 4 passengers and we left... Arrived in Cabo Frio at almost 22:00 and had to take a bus to get to downtown... and then walked for almost 30 mins to hotel...

I just made a small local 700 mile circle today. Had to leave before daylight. It doesn't hurt my feelings to do it again tomorrow and call it a good week.

Today was a little more restful... Took a bus to the house... checked on a few things...and after a nice lunch at that wonderful self-service restaurant that I LOVE! came back to hotel...
And then... took a walk to the beach nearby... Lots of tourists strolling around as today is a holiday in this touristic place...

There are 2 level buses riding around here with tourists...

The water was cold but there were many folks surfing this afternoon...

It became cloudy again this afternoon here...

Those surfers don't stop surfing for nothing...

And those folks can play ball all day long...

The sand on this beach is SOOO MUCH softer than the one where my house is... It feels good to walk on it... :yes2557:

Ended my afternoon at the beach with a nice cold fresh coco nut water...

And now... back at the hotel...

    At the house still.
Well it has been a busy day got the big tree over the house cut down. After those the I'm at here[IMG] i waited and my uncle do them a bit higher. I'm scared of heights and that was all the higher my nerves would let me go.[IMG]
Give one a new prospective when looking down at your house from that high up.

Blue tarp is from where a storm two weeks ago ripped of a bunch of shingles.
    Great view From my house[IMG]
Also went to our empty lots and knocked down the big one on it. And got a great view over the town.
    And from our empty lots.

Well me, my uncle, and son-in-law. Was worried another section of that tree fell 2 days ago and that falling on its own would take out half the house so rented the lift and bought a new saw then got to work :)
Uncle had to do the last of it just a few extra feet in height and my mind went oh hell no you don't.

    Rocks and TruckDuo Thank this.
