I picked and chose a load Thursday to Smyrna, GA leaving tomorrow. That's the benefit of actually walking in 10 minutes before dispatch leaves for the day and not calling in the morning to give them your availability. :)

FatDaddy, I'll let you in on a secret. Most Chicagoans don't really eat deep dish pizza. Somehow our city became famous for it. :biggrin_25520: Wife and I only went to Burts cause of the fact he's gotten so much praise for his pizza. He's opened up several pizza joints in the Chicagoland area in the past 50 years. You have to place your order in advance and then he gets all the ingredients the day of so everything on your pizza is fresh.

Don't know where you could park your truck and walk to get a good deep dish. I'll have to refer you to Slim Shady, SShewins, Chopper103in, Cranky Yankee(he's a midwesterner now) and Ukumfe. They would know better than me.

As a Chicagoan, I think we should be known more for our fabulous hot dogs and Italian beef:

Granted I rarely go into Chicagoland itself but have quite often been out in the burbs either in a bobtail or parked at a Walmart thinking that the local pizza joint would have some deep dish. No luck so far.

Nevah ! You gotta run it thru the garden Pete to really enjoy a hot dog. Yellow mustard, chopped white onions, bright green sweet pickle relish, a dill pickle spear, tomato wedges, pickled sport peppers and a dash of celery salt on a steamed poppy seed bun. Remember: Never put ketchup on a hot dog. :biggrin_25512: Never ask a vendor to put it on or they might ask you to leave. :biggrin_2559:

Well, that's a good question. Being I don't really go out of my way for deep dish, I'm no expert on that one. I'm ok with $5 little caesars pizza (I'm cheap). Find them anywhere. Bobtail right up to most of them. However, when I home, I really do like Rosati's pizza. I've heard Lou Malnoti has a good pie, but I've never tried one yet.

Almost forgot. Gino's East is somewhat of a local favorite (Chicago). They have two places, that I'm aware of. One is downtown Chicago. I think the other is off of 62 kinda east of Elmhurst. Not 100%sure though. Might get a bobtail at that location.

If your near Lansing, IL, beggar's is pretty good

Same here. Wife and I will get a Rosatis thin crust pizza everytime we come home from being out on the road for four weeks. Love their sauce, pepperoni and the giardiniera they use.
