Big enough for 8 or so skinny people...
Well... going out now in the rented vehicle... wind is blowing some but not too much... Will "keep an eye" on the weather... not very familiar with this area...TruckDuo and RedForeman Thank this. -
BTW... my only concern about going into shelters like those is that if something very heavy falls and blocks the door folks may become trapped in it... Oh well... maybe for a while...

Rocks are you getting back on the road tomorrow or do you have to do a bunch of paperwork and stuff since you've been out on leave? -
Last week (Wednesday afternoon) the cross wind was blasting pretty hard coming across I-40 in AR, about 40 miles or so west of Memphis. There were thunderstorms forming just a few miles to the north and the wind was the downdraft just ahead of them. It was pushing me around pretty good and I was scaling just shy of 80k. I was glad to be heavy on that trip, and to get clear of that.
Just a suggestion, most phone platforms have apps available for emergency weather alerts. I'm set up like a mini weather station, so that's sort of icing on the cake for me LOL. I had already seen the system on the gps weather overlay and had my CB turned up in case there were any reports of flipped over trucks. Since the storms were really isolated and not widespread, I did not turn on the 2M radio and start scanning the local ham repeaters or NWS broadcasts. -
Since going OTR, the wife has gotten a little more concerned about weather. She's on Facebook, and one of her 'friends' is some meteorological guy. She's pretty good at keeping me informed of questionable weather. One of the apps that I now use is Red Cross. It gives you severe weather alerts and warnings. A month back I was eating lunch in the TV room, when all of a sudden, a really loud air raid siren goes off. Tornado warning for back home. The looks I got were priceless, lol.

well i spent most of my life bouncing around offshore on the Atlantic
sometime during 4 weeks 150 miles offshore you would face weather you wouldnt want to be in
and the one thing I am sure about is no matter where you are in the country
there is plenty of weather to watch out for
if I worried about every weather warning i would never go anywhere
the weather channel builds the threats up to a point of hysteriaTruckDuo, chopper103in, 'olhand and 2 others Thank this. -
