You guys use QualCom? It appears from the chitchat it was a base software programming error that wasn't specific to a given carrier. No need fer the pumpkin fellers to be feelin' any more picked on than usual.

There's a lot more crime happening but they don't talk about it on television. Have to read the local newspapers to hear about the assaults, rapes and robberies that are common in the affluent neighborhoods. My theory on that is if the media really talked about it then it would expose the Chicago political machine as utterly useless. When my wife lived in the Lakeview/Lincoln Park area, it was astonishing the amount of crime they wouldn't talk about.

Not really sure yet. I don't tend to panic and take a wait and see approach because as with anything else here....things get blown out of proportion...mainly what I will wait to see is if certain work arounds work. Unfortunately based off the wording this sounds like a disaster

Can't honestly say. I got a Xantrex ProWatt SW 1800W from some RV supply in the internet for about $300. I figured if I'm gonna go thru all the trouble to install one, may as well be a good one.

Can't stress a good installation enough. I had a 12 foot run to the batteries, so used size 00 cable and bought a hydraulic crimping tool to put good terminals on.

I just went with the half gallon plan. If, after paying my bills, I did not have enough left to buy a 1.75L of my favorite, it was probably a bad idea to start with less.

I guess you'll be in traffic court, explaining to the judge what happens with tank cargo when you hit the brakes hard enough to be where the cop thought you should be. I see what you did there with the dash cam purchase LOL.

A @Ssssnake beat me to it. The smart one is the seller, not the consumer.

I carry 5 bottles like that on the truck, used mainly to fill the dog dish and the coffee maker. I buy the 30 packs of small bottles at Walmart for $3. Easier to handle while driving, and doing my part to keep landfills in business and warm the planet with all that plastic waste.

I like that my water comes from a North Georgia stream like this one at Tallulah Gorge.

    tallulah-gorge.jpg

Well it does sort of. After it runs into the Chattahoochee River, then into Lake Lanier. Where it's sucked out of the middle somewhere, avoiding the debris floating up on top, and the dead bodies, and discarded cars on the bottom. The Fulton County Public Works Dept sends me a pamphlet every year, explaining to me how they put that spring mountain magic goodness back in the water before it flows through the sink in my basement and into those bottles. It's official, so must be true. Therefore, my re-bottled water makes me think of the scene above when I pour it into my coffee maker. I think my dog has more sparkle from drinking it too.

Now that right there is a party! A guy I knew said he wasn't having fun until he woke up without his dental plate, having barfed it out somewhere. Going to the beach on the comfortable sand with an endless supply to cover up as much as you can vomit is brilliant! I can see your genius emerged at an early age!

Yeah, that's what I did. It's the whole assembly in my case, light, bulb and wires. Little two prong plug just inside the housing.

    image.jpeg

I knew SNI didn't use actual bulbs unless it was on the tractors, or at least that was the case in my old ones. New tractors use led's, so that's probably the whole assembly.

I think it can be, it's just going to depend upon how strict the coding is.

In my case, our biggest issue is that we *could* quickly turn it back to off duty... The caveat is it's supposed to go back and redo any time you were moving.

Thing is. Does that mean if there's a 15 minute period between movements, does it also mean it'll reset that?

If you have to move while on your 10, is it going to reset that and potentially force another 10?

If that's the case, then it's time to find someplace with paper logs, maybe?

It is a system wide change. It isn't so much butthurt about SNI or a feeling of being picked on.

It's more a case of... Say you cross the street in your rig for coffee.

Used to be, as long as we didn't move any more than a mile, it wouldn't log us as driving, or on duty.

Now, when you start to move...you're being logged and your day starts.

But it's a two fold issue according to what I've read. Used to be that you had to have at least 5 minutes of whatever status you're on for it to be "saved." (It logs in 5 minute increments.)

From what I've read, that may/may not still be the case, but the QC will go back and change your duty status if the wheels moved prior to you actually driving.

That may mean that if you're at a shipper and you're taking your 10, if you're asked to move while on your 10, not only will you be caught as driving (and then tattled on) but you may have to start your 10 all over.

At the moment...I'm in agreement with @FatDaddy It is much too early to be panicking or making choices to stay or go. Until it's rolled out 12 central, then it's all theoretical talk.

be careful with the gossip columns

I tend to look at smart anything as method of marketing. its a sales tactic, such as Smart Bacon or Smart Soap however, smart homes, phones, cars etc imply advanced technologies, so a smart brand product screams technology.

    Smart water ..
Inspired by the clouds, smartwater is a vapor-distilled water with electrolytes added for taste.

to me it's nothing more then distilled water with a distinct taste.. kind of like certain well water and natural clean mountain water each being unique

Smart water does have a good taste to it... But is it only me, or does some water leave your mouth feeling dry after you've had a drink?

SW doesn't, but some of the more popular brands do. Dasani is absolutely terrible...

Got to Chattanooga early despite changing out a bulb. Should've guessed it was going to be a trouble truck though...

    Idiots...

Yeah, to make matters worse...the improper loading caused a few bottles of something to bust open. So the floor was slick. Hard to see, but it was wet and it wasn't soaking into the floor well. Store seemed to think it was shampoo.

Got finished with that and moved on over to my backhaul. Nice folks at least, so that's always good. Seemed efficient when I pulled up and got checked in, hopefully they'll live up to that.

They're all some variation of that sort of assembly. CMV lighting hasn't had separate lamps and bezels in decades.

You were lucky. I have had very few lamps actually just need replacement. Usually the plastic mount breaks or deforms, preventing the assembly from firmly locking in place. Of course by then, screws holding said bracket are corrosion welded in place, and require drills and ez-outs to remove. A 5 minute lamp replacement then turns into an hour or two production sprinkled with a lot of cussing. Usually when it's minus zero out, raining, or both. And you're parked in a dirt lot. At night. Of course it's night, since you noticed the light not working.
