Honestly, right about now your SNI deal is probably about the best thing going for general freight at the moment. Don't quit LOL.

For what it's worth, I pay 25% of the gross rate, 50% on detention, layovers, and 100% driver assist. And no ELD. So, probably not the greatest offer out there, but certainly far from the worst.

I haven't hired anyone since BigJohn54 passed away in Oct '12, for a few reasons. At the moment, the top one being the lack of good freight opportunities that would enable a self-starter to take home some decent money, and me to bear the expense of operating another truck. Last year, my son, who isn't exactly a fan of hard work, was routinely booking around $6,000 a week in revenue and home for at least 2 days a week, running roughly 2,500 mi/wk.

Kinda wish I had something to do today, make the day go faster ... everyone else is dragging their feet today getting me paperwork I do have a pile of stuff to file, but I tend to use that as a stalling excuse when the short runs make lunch time need to be an hour or so later than usual

 

Back at the yard, cooking dinner and awaiting the eventual update of my Qc. Maybe. They postponed it yesterday, so maybe again today?

So far it's 12pm central. No update so far.

Running out once again this week to Mt. Juliet & Murphreesboro. I'm hoping it's a lighter load, similar to Monday. Means I should be able to get back in the same day and do one more full run versus some silly local run that's not worth a toot.

Unfortunately, I've had no bites on any of the submitted applications. I was afraid that this may happen, and I suspect I'm going to either have to stick with SNI (I MIGHT could do lease & run Canada only...but I've no idea about the load boards and what's available.) or take a leap of faith, move up there first and THEN be hired.

I'll do some more looking around when home over the weekend.

 

@TruckDuo , guess I'm going to my aunt and uncles for thanksgiving. A lot of good drinkers there so we always have fun.
